Mom is in the hospital again

We are back again in the hospital with Mom’s second serious battle with her blood pressure. She was feeling sick (fever 102 and stomach virus symptoms) when we went to Baylor Regional (5 minutes from her apt) last night after dialysis. She continued to worsen until they admitted her at 5:00am to monitor her condition and get her crazy high blood pressure in check. The vomiting made the pressure go up, in turn that makes her nauseated so she continues to be sick which continue to drive her blood pressure up. It’s the same cycle her system was in back in February 2006 when she went into end stage renal (kidney) failure and started dialysis.

As of right now she is in 426 at Baylor regional and they have set up round the clock one on one care because of the extreme conditions. She is not in ICU but if she continues to vomit with the same intensity they are starting to look for a tear between her esophagus and her stomach. If that were to occur it would mean emergency surgery and sedation, chest tubes and all sorts of other things that are too scary to mention.

Please pray for her and the doctors, Dr. Patel specifically. We are waiting on the documentation from Medical City to confirm which meds she was given that she reacted too so poorly and caused the seizure in February.

I'll update when I know more.
